While setting up the laptop we would enter the SSID (router’s name) and the curren…

Use Crayons To Share Data Between Digital Computer And Human Mind

F2QXSM1ITQ3BMTH.SMALL.jpgOne of the things I find so repugnant about the modern digital computer is how rigid the separation is between user, programmer, microprocessor, hardware, and software. The modern computer is partly a product of a religious belief that “data” or “information” have some sort of otherworldly existenc…

coffee1

From Thinkgeek:

Let R2 help you navigate your mornings more successfully with this Star Wars R2-D2 Coffee Press. He’s happy to help a human in need. Put your grounds and boiling water in his glass body, brew for a few minutes, plunge, and he’ll serve up 32 oz. of piping hot coffee. For folks playing along at home, that’s 4 cups, so even if your motivator is so bad that the Jawas put you back on the scrap heap, he can still get you going.

These Metal Hybrid Pokémon Concepts Look Badass as Hell [Pics]

hybrid1

The folks from Frame Wars have recently designed badass looking pokémon hybrids that are equipped with metal armor and advanced weaponry. If they’d exist in real life, a lot of Pokémon would already be super dangerous to most people, now just imagine what they could do with weapons and armor. A game featuring these hybrid version would also be pretty cool!

hybrid

Hybrids are metal infested animals due to extensive exposure to the Terranium substance during the terra-forming periods of the Old Earth. They are easily distinguished by their part metallic and part organic physical compositions

Guillermo Del Toro’s Trollhunters Netflix Show Will Star Anton Yelchin in One of His Final Roles

Trollhunters Season 1 December 2016

We have already been pretty interested to see Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming animated Netflix show Trollhunters; the story is actually an adaptation of a little-known book of the same title that del Toro wrote. Those who’ve been following the news about the show for a while will recall that Anton Yelchin of Star Trek fame had signed on to voice the lead character, a 15-year-old boy named Jim. The show plans to keep Yelchin in the lead, at least for the first season of the show, even though Yelchin tragically passed away earlier this year.

Entertainment Weekly has a sneak peek at some preview images of the show, featuring Yelchin’s character Jim (in the center of the photo above), as well as a couple of the other characters and the trolls, who’ll be voiced by Guillermo del Toro mainstays Ron Perlman and Kelsey Grammar. Jonathan Hyde, Lexi Madrano, Amy Landecker, Fred Tatasciore, and Steven Yeun will also be rounding out the rest of the voice acting cast.

EW’s reportage doesn’t specify what will happen to Yelchin’s character going forward–whether he’ll be replaced, or whether another lead character will come to the foreground, or what. However, del Toro did take the time to praise the “warm, accessible quality” that Yelchin brought to the character of Jim: “That simple goodness and beautiful soul came through every time [Yelchin read].” Del Toro went on, “We went through great pains to ensure that his voice is preserved for the series. He was so passionate about it, and he had so much fun doing this.”

It’s a shame that Yelchin’s voice for Jim won’t be able to continue past the first season of the show, but at least he was able to participate in a project that sounds fun and rewarding. Trollhunters will debut on Netflix this December.
